Even in 2017, Creatives in the church still find objection and criticism. In my post, about The Rise Of The Christian Creative, I went on about this. Art is often seen as an element that lives and should live outside of the church circle. But the truth is God is a creative God, and the creative person should be encouraged in faith circles. So I’ve noted some scriptures to help those of you needing that encouragement. For the entrepreneurs, creatives, and budding creatives, read on and be encouraged!

Exodus 35:35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work

Exodus 35:31–35

31 1 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills-32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts. 34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers — all of them skilled workers and designers.

1 Timothy 4: 14–15

14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Colossians 3:23–24

23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Ecclesiastes 9:10–11

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. 11 I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.

Exodus 31: 1–6

Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. “I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship. “And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you:

OOps, I have one more for you..

Proverbs 22:29

29 “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”

Don’t bury your talent, give the King His due returns.
